Successful ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024 Textile Machinery Exhibition for the ILLIES Group
Held from October 14th to 18th at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024 featured six exhibition halls and grossed 160,000 square meters. It brought together nearly 1,700 leading textile machinery manufacturers from 22 countries and regions to promote their latest technological offerings to thousands of customers.
The key textile partners of the ILLIES Group — Karl Mayer, Oerlikon, itema, and Terrot — unveiled their cutting-edge solutions focusing on efficiency, sustainability, digitalization and intelligence in relevant product sectors which garnered considerable interest from the audience.
Karl Mayer
The Karl Mayer Group, under the theme of “Master the Change, Profitable. Flexible, Sustainable” showcased its profound insights into customer requirements and its proactive approach to market dynamics through live demonstrations. This year's show emphasized technologies and solutions tailored to enable customers to produce in a sustainable and profitable manner. A key feature was the focus on energy consumption reduction: introducing energy-efficient solutions in warp knitting and enhancing the drying process in warp preparation for better energy efficiency, with real-time monitoring of energy usage, costs, and carbon emissions.
Concurrent with the exhibition, Karl Mayer China hosted an Inhouse Exhibition in their Changzhou factory. A major highlight of this event, besides the numerous Karl Mayer machinery on display, was the launch of the new Karl Mayer showroom, which displayed advanced solutions in multiple technical areas and a variety of innovative warp knitting applications, as well as the latest trends in textiles.
Oerlikon
In response to the current industry's challenges, the Oerlikon Group once again focused on the consistent replacement of older systems existing in the markets with energy-efficient and sustainable technology solutions, the use of digital software and hardware solutions to increase productivity and ensure material quality, and the traceability of all products to enable the recycling of the raw materials used in a future-oriented circular economy.
Oerlikon is proud of the fact that the company has been offering innovative solutions for the textile industry under the e-save sustainability label for 20 years and has saved over 15 million tons of CO2 thanks to the machines and systems developed and installed on the market during this time.
itema
Itema, a leading global provider of advanced weaving solutions including weaving machines, spare parts and integrated services, this time showcased a total of ten weaving machines at the exhibition.
The cutting-edge weaving technologies highlighted at the itema booth included the GalileoRX rapier weaving machine — in 2300 mm weaving width — and the high-performance projectile P7300HP V8 in 3900 mm weaving width. Guests also had the opportunity to see eight additional Itema rapier weaving machines showcased at their partner booths.
Santoni(Terrot)
Terrot presented at the Santoni booth its patented UCC 572-T, a cutting-edge, high-feeder transfer jacquard circular knitting machine for sports and leisurewear in fine gauges. This machine has been favored in the market for its remarkable technical performance and ability to produce high-quality fabrics.
For over 160 years, Terrot has established itself as a reliable partner in the global textile industry, with its Terrot and Pilotelli product lines reaching 120 countries. The integration of Terrot into the Santoni ecosystem in last year, further solidified its leadership in the circular knitting, particularly in the double jersey and jacquard sector.
