Recover™ launches Vietnam recycling plant with Illies Engineering Vietnam as key market partner

Global textile recycling leader Recover is proud to announce its expansion into Vietnam, marking a significant milestone in circularity and sustainability for the textile industry. The partnership with Illies Engineering Vietnam (IEV) focuses on accelerating Recover’s entry into Vietnam’s textile market - the third largest globally - by leveraging IEV’s extensive network and expertise to connect Recover’s innovative recycled materials with key players in the industry.

“Partnering with Recover represents a remarkable extension of Illies’ recycling portfolio,” said Christoph Peters, General Director of Illies Engineering Vietnam. “Recover provides the essential link to ensure the future of circularity in the textile industry.”

Pioneering Recycling Facility in Vietnam

The plant, located in Dong Nai province, will commence operations in early 2025 with two advanced recycling lines and an initial capacity of 10,000 metric tons annually. It will specialize in RMix, Recover’s proprietary recycled cotton-polyester blend, which addresses the industry’s challenge of recycling natural-synthetic fiber blends without separation.

“This expansion is crucial,” said Recover CEO Anders Sjöblom. “By bringing advanced technology to Vietnam, we’re fostering a shift towards circularity.”

Focus on Sustainability and Local Impact

Strategically positioned near waste sorting and manufacturing activities, the facility minimizes transportation costs and environmental impact. With cutting-edge recycling technology and an on-site lab for quality assurance and innovation, the plant underscores Recover’s commitment to driving sustainability in Vietnam’s textile industry.
